  • LL Bean Oxford Cloth Dress Shirts.

LL Bean - I have been on-line and read this same comment in several reviews. I have a number of your Oxford Cloth Dress Shirts (they wear great as far as durability) and was hoping that you would consider changing to two buttons on the armcuff instead of the current one button. The one button is placed such that the diameter of the cuff far exceeds most men's wrist sizes and contributes to a more sloppy appearance for the shirt. Adding a second button (as I see in almost all men's dress shirts by other manufacturer's) would allow for the choice of a smaller diameter cuff... More...

  • Christmas Gift Revelation

I recently ordered an expensive gift for my daughter for Christmas. We had decided this year to purchase only one gift each. She texted me and thanked me for her bean boots that she would be receiving this upcoming Christmas from LLbean. I was puzzled as to how she found out. LLBean had sent her an e-mail about the order! When I called to see why her e-mail was listed and asked to remove it from my account; there was absolutely no apologies whatsoever. Disappointed! !! More...

  • Chill Pill minature speakers

Extremely satisfied with the way Maureen at your King of Prussia, Pa. store helped me on my Christmas dilemma. The Marlton, Nj. store was out of the Chill Pill speakers that I needed for Christmas. Maureen not only sold me the speakers BUT took them to her home in Moorestown, NJ for me to pickup the next day as I live in Marlton, Nj about 8 miles away from her house. WHAT A SALES EXPERIENCE..I shop regularly at LL Bean and can't say enough about your sales personal. A mention as well for Ruth at the Marlton, Nj. store who is extremely helpful. Please mention to both of these Ladies... More...

  • order error

I placed an order for a pair of slippers and a pair of boots from L.L. Bean. While I certainly appreciate the speedy delivery maybe it was so speedy they didn't bother to check the order before it went out? What I received were one pair of wicked good slippers and one pair of dorky slippers I DID NOT order, not even remotely close to the boots I ordered. When I called to get it fixed I was informed my boots were no longer available? The customer service rep said she was sorry and that was it. In addition I get to drive the dorky slippers to the UPS drop. A lot of disappointment... More...

I made a order with the company noticed the system did not have the right address. We have a new floor at the building and the mail system does not know it yet. It happens all i do is tell the system to override and place in what i wanted. well in this case the program did not care for that. So i do the next logical step call them aka llbean. they tell me oh cant do a thing you should cancel the order and re-order. really for the same thing to happen again. I even told the guy just append the floor. nope notta so i was like fine not worth the hassle and wait will just go to landsend... More...

  • LL Bean review

Living in maine LLbean is a place all mainers go to know when they shop for an item that it's going to last for many years and when it does start to fail you can bring it back to beans to have you item replaced. Now as a mom I want to buy my kids winter stuff to know that there going to be warm wet free and I'm worry free. Not the case I bought my kids there winter wear to only find them wet when they get home. I sent back my sons items cause I was able to find him other items at local stores for the rest of the season. As for my little girl I couldn't find any thing so I... More...

  • Problems with orders@llbean.com

On 12/5/10, I placed an order for TC258269, Deep Coffee Snow Sneakers, Size 9 1/2. Immediately after I received the order confirmation for the Snow Sneakers, I forwarded the email to orders@llbean.com with a request to cancel the order. I did not hear anything back from this emailed cancellation request. (From here on out, things just got more convoluted, but I will save that for another Support Ticket.) When I did an online chat with a customer service rep on 12/20/10, she stated that, "That is great that you have them [ the sent email to cancel order] in your Sent file. It... More...

$10 Gift with $50 or more purchase bad for customers and business. I made a purchase of $200 online. Thought I would get a gift card for every $50 purchase. Received email confirmming order tried to contact LL BEAN got cut off on Live Chat twice. Called Customer Service could not change to smaller order so I could take full advantage of 4 gift cards. Would not cancel order so I could resubmit as smaller orders. email from them is below. Would it not be cheaper for company to have one big order than several small orders? Called Customer Service to change order to 4 smaller orders so I could get 4 gift cards they would not do that. So requested the order to be cancelled they also would not do that because they already billed me. Order has not been sent yet just in processing. • LLBean creed no longer honored

I contacted LLBean concerning a fleece jacket that had a failed zipper...I shared with them how much I loved the jacket and that it was well worn with a burn hole in the sleeve...they responded that the zipper repair did not fall under the guarantee because of the burn hole. How are the two related??? The LLBean Creed of 1918(?) is no longer being honored. I will no longer shop at LLBean until they update their service claims...or fix the zipper! Tom of Vermont More...

I tried to repaired a pair of gum shoes I have had repaird several times before, having the soles replaced and essentially had myself a new pair of gumshoes. This last repair was unsuccessful because Bean could not repair them because they were repaired too many times. I then went to a LL Bean store in Pittsburgh and wanted to buy a new pair of gum shoes to my dissatifaction they do not make my shoe size any more and the customer service would not take the tracing of my foot and make me a set of shoes. Dear Sir or Madam, Why does LL Bean continue to ignore the Big and Tall segment of our population in it's offerings? There are many items that you offer for sale that I would like to purchase, however, you do not offer them in Big and Tall sizes. Please advise if there is any potential change in reference to this matter; and if not why? Eddy A. Smith 960 Northwood Drive Apt. 3 Endwell, NY 13760 607.239.6001 easlks@yahoo.com More...

  • Coupons Ripoff

Was thrilled to receive 3, $10 holiday coupons after purchasing Bean items last Christmas... Since Bean never has sales on current items, I felt it made up for their higher prices. I redeemed them for a pair of shoes, that fit very poorly... So I sent back the shoes for a jacket and pants. Guess what? Bean customer service said I couldn't redeem my $30 coupons "Sorry, you can't return for a different item!" HuH??? Guess what Bean? As a 30+ year customer, I will NEVER deal with you again... • Just an observation

It seems that you are compromising the rugged spirit of the Maine outdoors by offering more of an urban line of imported clothing. I remember Eddie Bauer and Bannana Republic and even the Gap softened it's edges this way and it lost them many customers. Me included. LL Bean used to be unique and not just a clone of other catalogue houses. While I realize that imports are a fact of life and more Americans live in urban settings isn't there a way to toughen up and bring back the Maine charm of rugged clothing not made in China? Thanks Tom Hardy Made in Maine More...

  • L.L. Bean Christmas trees

The recent news that Beans was going to stop buying the bulk of their evergreens from out of state has caused me to rethink how your company now works. How you could even consider doing that to a company that has served you well for years, and that donates thousands of wreaths to decorate the graves of Americas heros, is beyond me.for a company that built their wealth and reputation on being a proudMaine company, all I can say isL.L. would be ashamed of you.I know I am. • L.L.Bean Visa Card

I am very dissappointed with L.L.Bean corporation. I truly like their products - but am very upset at the way they handle their potential credit card customers. They don't have the incentives (free shipping, free monograming, etc) for customers who pay their bills and credit cards off monthly, owe no one, etc..... I applied for the L.L.Bean Visa Card but was turned down (of course, no one contacted me to tell me this, I had to call and e-mail quite a few times before I got any answers - after over two months). I was turned down because I have no debt. I do charge quite a bit, but... More...

  • No Longer an L L bean customer

Long time customer of LL Bean! Lack of recent customer service will deter me from continuing to buy their products. I bought an .entertainment center that turned out to be damaged because It was left out in the rain by UPS. LL Bean pleasantly informed me that they would ship out another unit to replace the first one. I was instructed to carefully unwrap the 2nd package so I could use it to rewrap the damaged one. Second one arrived, with the help of two friends we assembled it. This Entertainment unit was difficult to assemble, extra holes , quality control of product certainly not... More...

  • Deceased mom sent to collections...

My wife's 85 year old mom passed away last week. Mom's LL Bean card had a $1,000.00 balance, and was due the same day she died. We contacted the lawyer in charge of Mom's estate, who told us not to pay mom's bills out of our own money, but to advise the companies of her death, and the payments would be settled with the will. My wife advised LL Bean of mom's death. She was immediately sent to collections, and a very rude woman, who kept asking for an immediate payment, and finally hung up on my wife. Mom's credit was outstanding, by the way. Now.. a day... More...

As a long time employee of LLBean, this store has sadly gone downhill quickly ! Our management as well as in Maine is looking to fire employees because the Co. is loosing money. Well, everything is made in foreign countries and does not hold up at all. Our morale in our store could not be any worse. I am looking for employement elsewhere and cannot wait to leave this toxic environment.

Got 1 of $100 and 1 of $50 gift card through my CityReward program in 2007. I used the $100 to buy some sheets and wrote down balance of $23 on the card and then forgot about them until today. Tried to verify the balance with their balance inquiry hotline and was transferred to the first customer rep, who was pleasant but could not find my cards in her system, so she handed me over to another rep, who informed me that if it's been a while since the gift card is used, they may be purged out of the system, or the 3rd party mishandled the processing. Okay...she asked to hold for a new rep, who'd 'be happy to see if I have better luck at finding the cards.' Well, he told my cards have $0 balance, did he in fact find the cards in his system showing a balance of 0 dollars? Um...no, he actually couldn't find them just as the 2 previous reps, but he figured he'd be unable to get rid of me if he told me that.

What about the possibility of the cards purged out of system due to long period of inactivity? Oh no no no, the other rep was mistaken, it was purged only because it was used up. Okay, so you couldn't access your archive system and get back to me? That'd be true customer service, and it's too much to ask of LL Bean.

Whatever balance on the cards I'm considering donation to charity, since LL Bean needs it so much more than I, but I'm certainly not doing any more business with this sad outfit!

L L Bean no longer cares about their customers. It is too bad since they have historically had super customer service but I guess some different people are starting to make decisions there. Their customer service and good value have kept the orders coming in but I guess they have decided to go the way of Sears Roebuck and Co.

I bought a pair of 'Sunwashed Sweat Pants' for $34.50 and paid $15 to have them shortened. The first time I wore them a got a little chocolate on the front and used Shout to remove the spots before I put the pants in the wash. (I had prewashed the pants before taking them for alteration.)When I took the pants out of the dryer, the places where I had used the Shout were bleached out! I called Customer Service and was told that the Care Label says 'Do not spot clean.' She went on to tell me bluntly "IT WAS YOUR FAULT" (Those were her exact words!) and that LLBean wasn't responsible. I told her I thought this was outrageous. I have NEVER heard of a washable garment that you couldn't use a national brand of spot remover intended for washable clothes on it. I don't think Bean ought to be selling clothes that can't be cared for in the customary manner.

I have shopped with LL Bean for 30+ years and the very few times a problem has come up it has been dealt with quickly and professionally.

I also have a Bean Visa card and any problem with the card is not with Bean but with the bank.

Why were the Trim fit pants discontinued? I've ordered dozens of them over the last 10 years and my friends have ordered many pairs too. That syle was the best exercise pant. The waistband was the most flattering for a knit pant. Any possibility that it will come back?

I am in VietNam having called LLBean Visa on 12/25 in advance of travel that I would be using card out of country. My hotel, LaResidence in Hue, was not able to process my bill with you. I am furious and considering canceling my card when I return to USA. What if I didn't have another card? Please send me an explanation ASAP.
